Third Doses required for some workers in key industries.

Under new orders coming into place on Wednesday 12 January, workers in many key sectors who are already required to be fully vaccinated with two doses must get their third dose before being permitted to work onsite.
This will apply to healthcare, aged care, disability, emergency services, correctional facility, quarantine accommodation and food processing and distribution workers (excluding retail). It will not apply to workers who have a valid medical exemption.
◾️Applicable workers who are eligible for their third dose on or before Wednesday 12 January will have until Saturday 12 February to get their third dose.
◾️Applicable workers not eligible by 12 January will be required to get the third dose by specific dates in March – three months and two weeks following the deadline for their second mandatory dose.
In addition to these changes, as a sensible step to reduce the risks of the virus spreading, indoor dancefloors within hospitality and entertainment venues must close from 11:59pm 12 January.
These venues can still operate. Seated service is recommended, and indoor dancefloors at weddings will still be permitted.
Full information on these changes and others will be published at www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au when the settings come into effect at 11:59pm Wednesday.
