RAWSON PROJECT OFFICIAL OPENING DELAYED

Unfortunately the official opening of the Rawson Skate and RV Park Project planned for Saturday 21 August has been impacted by the current Covid restrictions. Because the opening event is classified as a “public gathering” under the current State Government restrictions there is an attendance cap of 10 people.

The original plan for the opening event was to have the official proceedings with speeches from Member for Eastern Victoria, Harriet Shing MP, BBSC Mayor and a photo opportunity. Following this a range of community activities had been organised including the GippSport StreetGames crew running a basketball free throw competition, a 1 hour skate clinic and the Scouts cooking a free BBQ so that the community could enjoy and celebrate the opening together.

Due to the attendance limit Baw Baw Shire are now looking to hold two events – the official opening with Harriet Shing MP, Councillors and a few Project Reference Group community representatives with a max of 10 people, and then a larger community celebration event with the above activities once restrictions allow.
