From Vic Premier Dan Andrews:
“You wouldn’t choose a freezer meal over a dinner out.
And you wouldn’t opt for a zoom call with friends over a catch up in the beer garden.
But when you choose not to get vaccinated, without an exemption, that’s exactly what you’ll be doing.
We’re all hanging out for those places and people we’ve gone without. And soon we can enjoy them again.
But freedoms like going to the pub or eating out, at least while we’re opening back up, will only be for those Victorians who’ve been fully vaccinated.
It’s not just for your own health – it’s for everyone else too, and to protect our health system.
That’s why from October 11, Greater Bendigo, Bass Coast, Warrnambool, East Gippsland and more will begin trialling a what we’re calling the “vaccinated economy”.
In those areas we’ll be selecting hospitality, hairdressing, events and other venues to have higher capacities and more customers if they’re all fully vaccinated.
They’re all highly vaccinated areas of the state, and they’ll be doing really important work helping test and trial new rules, and ways of proving vaccination status when you check-in.
And soon, after we reach 70% double vaccinated, the rest of Victoria will follow the same vaccinated economy system too.
So whatever your reason – whether it’s getting to the pub sooner, or protecting the ones you love:
Please don’t delay. Book an appointment today.”
