Erica’s ECFCOM Folds

ECFCOM, Baw Baw Council’s Section 86 Committee of Management which had been managing the Shire’s public facilities in Erica failed to attract any nominations at its Annual General Meeting held in the Erica Hall on Tuesday 20 August. (Update:  a further meeting to explore whether the committee can be re-formed will be held in the Erica Hall at 6:30 pm on Tuesday 15 October.)None of the retiring committee wished to continue their roles and although nominations  for all positions were called for, there were no volunteers. Baw Baw Shire can call another meeting to try and establish a new committee to manage Erica facilities such as the  Memorial Hall, Mill Park and the recreation reserve, but has not indicated when or if this may occur. If a new committee cannot be formed, Shire staff may handle bookings and other functions as is already happening in Rawson.

The Erica and District Progress Association (EDPA) and ECFCOM do have different functions and objectives, but a number of volunteers were members of both committees.
