Toy Run to Lunch in Erica
Here are all of the Toy Run details.
I’ve been getting a few calls lately about details of the Toy Run and, although all of this info is spread throughout this Facebook page, it is given here in its entirety.
It will be held on Saturday 4th December, 2021, and the starting point will be adjacent to Bobber Dave’s Bike Shop in Nefertiti Court, Traralgon. The Run will commence at 11.00am but bikes usually start arriving between 9.00am and 9.30am. On arrival you will be marshalled into position to maximise the space we have available. As soon as you are parked the Neighborhood Watch team will QR scan you in or record your name and phone number.
Bobber Dave’s shop will be open for sales and inspection, the Traralgon Lions will be selling breakfast and Lahrra’s Coffee wagon will also there.
At 11.00am the Police will ensure we depart in one group by blocking off traffic.
We will be riding through Tyers, Yallourn North and arrive at Erica at approximately 11.50am. The Police will again block traffic at the intersection of Purvis Road and the Moe to Walhalla Road. Keep an eye out for Kym from Smyk Images on the departure side of Tyers and give her a wave when she takes your photo.
When we arrive at Erica the lead bikes will turn right into the Recreation Reserve where there is plenty of parking but you are free to park wherever you want. There is lots of parking at and around the pub and further up near the General Store. The old Servo just across from the pub is also available but the two trucks from the Salvos and St Vinnies will be parked there to collect toys, so be cautious.
If you want a meal at the pub you will have to book in advance by calling Judy on 5165 3252. Food will also be available at the General Store (pies, rolls and other fried food) or from the Erica Scouts (burgers and a sausage sizzle) who will be located at the beer garden near the Caravan Park. Geoff and Tash Heyblom will have their coffee van there as well. Trev and Bec, the proprietors of the Caravan Park, will have a bar operating from the beer garden and the 350’s Blues Band will be entertaining us there.
Please keep in mind that this is a Run to support families in need at Christmas time and this year is turning out to be the most desperate we have seen. So it’s all about toys, toys, toys. Don’t forget to bring something. If you can’t affix it to your bike take it along to one of our collection points in advance, including Bobber Dave’s.
We have 180 celebratory patches to give to the first riders at no cost donated by Eastern Riders Derek and Cheryl Hewling, and also a trophy for the best decorated bike donated by Triangle Trophies. This will be selected by Jules from Bobber Dave’s.
