Latrobe Lagging
Although Latrobe City’s Vaccination uptake is well over the national targets with more than 85 per cent of residents receiving their first COVID-19 shots and 55 per cent having their second dose, the area is still lagging behind all other Gippsland municipalities, most of which are hovering over the 90 per cent first dose vaccination mark.
Bass Coast shire is leading Gippsland area vaccination rates with 95 percent first and 70 percent second dose results.
East Gippsland Shire Gippsland has 92.8 and 69.3 percent, South Gippsland 91.8 and 66.2, Baw Baw 91.0 and 62.7, and Wellington 89.6 and 65.4.
More than 120 000 doses were administered in Gippsland community Vaccination hubs last week, including 1000 Moderna jabs which are available to anyone over the age of 12.
