Search Continues

Wednesday 9:00 am. Helicopters, horses, motorcycles and a variety of vehicles have joined the search for missing campers Caleb Forbes, 22, from Kilsyth, and Shannon Lowden, 21, from Lilydale. The pair told family members they were intending to camp Friday night near the Thomson Dam, north of Erica and Rawson, but have not made contact since Saturday morning.

SES, Police and other experienced volunteers are assisting in the search which will today concentrate on areas north of the Thomson Dam.   With clear skies, excellent visibility and warmer temperatures expected today, searchers will be able to check large areas of new bush and pay particular attention to flooded creeks and crossings.

Police have asked that anybody wishing to join the operation should contact Warragul Police on 5622 7111 before travelling to the search area.

Wednesday 6:00 pm. Dusk. Searchers are returning to Rawson, apparently without any success. Ambulances and other vehicles are departing for their bases.
