80 000 extra $200 Travel Vouchers released
Good news to help our struggling tourism sector! More travel vouchers to use at regional tourism operators are on their way folks.
A $32m + package, which has just been announced, includes 80,00 $200 tourism vouchers, grants of up to $7,000 for tourism operators, grants for up to $15,000 for on-mountain operators (welcome news for Mt Baw Baw) and grants of up to $5,000 for off-mountain operators such as ski and chain hire businesses.
The “new” 80,000 release of $200 vouchers is an additional effort to help regional tourism operators.
Over the past two years revenue in some of the key tourism destinations within the Baw Baw Shire Council area has fallen by over 60%, and it is hoped that this lifeline will assist in keeping some of the businesses in our more remote areas from closing permanently.
